Craving....

In church we have been talking about how we need to crave The Word (1 Peter 2:1-3), but because the Bible is so available we here we have for the most part become complacent in craving The Word. Many of us have between 3-5 Bibles just laying around our homes collecting dust. We have 8 of them, I like to be able to give Bibles away when I can. However, my personal Bible I am happy to report is not actively collecting dust, rather I am actively craving The Word and it is actively feeding me spiritually. How many do you have? Are they collecting dust or spiritually feeding you?

What would happen if the Bible wasn't so available to us anymore? Would we then crave The Word? Would we resemble these wonderful people?

Ps. Remember to hide The Word in your heart too, that way if our Bibles do become hard to come by one day we can be like the character Eli in 'The Book of Eli' and bring the Bible back into production because we have hidden The Word in our hearts. :)

What an amazing couple and they are true role models. I didn't think people like this couple existed today, on this scale. I know their are a lot of people like my family that happily give what we can to charities and to our churches, but I can say that I personally have never known anyone that has just given away all of their winnings from something (in the midst of cancer treatment) because they are already content with their lives. I honestly don't know if I would do that, I would like to think that I would...but I just don't know. I guess if I ever get to cross that bridge I will find out then. What about you?

Another reason to love Chiropractors

(Yes, there is supposed to be a pic here- it didn't work!)

Ok, everyone knows I love going to my chiropractor- I am always telling everyone how much it benfits me in my daily life and how it especially helped me to successfully practice attachment parenting woth my children. I wore them all day everyday the first year of their lives. Strain on the body, I'd say. I wouldn't choose to do it differently though, I have my wonderful chiropractor!

Anyway, now chiropractors everywhere are offerring their services for FREE to injured vets of Iraq and Afghanistan. Some chiropractors even have other services that they offer in conjunction with their additional staff such as, accupuncture, massages, PTSD therapy, and my favorite EFT(emotional freedom technique, which I use to great success). The ICA is having a hard time letting vets know through the military hospital channels, lots of red tape- go figure.
